Project Details

Client: Peterloo Estates Ltd

Date: April, 2006

Status: SOLD

Peterloo brought the site known as 2-12 The Crescent forward with a revised planning application for 507 apartments. Working closely with Salford City Council and Urban Vision URC, planning consent was secured in April 2006.
Unfortunately the project was funded by Kaupthing Singer and Friedlander who collapsed into Administration in October 2008. Peterloo managed the site on behalf of the bank until it was sold in 2013 to local businessman Fred Done.

1. Case study

The site was acquired from Dunham Homes in 2005 and a new planning consent sought; increasing the density from circa 191 apartments to 507.

2. Result

A high quality and contemporary design courtesy of local design studio OMI architects. The development included private courtyards and a significant public realm addition.

3. Experience

A complicated but worthwhile project to put together. Salford City Council worked tirelessly to assist with the land assembly that facilitated the proposition.
